Our goals reveal that knowledge and professional skills, while crucial to the fulfillment of our Mission, are not the ultimate purpose of a Duquesne education. Education can be the point of entry into a lifetime of moral and spiritual growth as well as intellectual and professional success. Therefore, outreach efforts focused on service are an integral element in virtually all academic areas of the University.

The University's commitment to integrate excellent education with moral and spiritual values, openness to diversity and sensitivity for world concerns, translated into action through service, are evident throughout the University and its 10 schools. The lived mission of Duquesne attests to the fact that it is a Catholic University in the Spiritan tradition.
