As a testament to our mission-driven commitment to academic excellence, Duquesne has earned numerous accolades for our programs and initiatives. Our most recent honors include:

U.S. News and World Report

  • Duquesne ranked No. 120 on the 2018 Best Colleges list, marking its tenth consecutive year in the top tier of schools and a four-spot increase from last year.
  • Duquesne is No. 12 among national Catholic universities within the U.S. News 2018 top tier schools.
  • The University is No. 42 in the Best Value Schools category.
  • Duquesne ranked No. 75 in the Best Colleges for Veterans category, up seven spots from last year.
  • High school counselors from around the country ranked Duquesne No. 106 in the High School Counselor Rankings.
  • The School of Business' undergraduate programs ranked No. 151 in the Best Undergraduate Business Programs category.
  • The School of Nursing has reached an all-time high at No. 67 in 2018 Best Graduate Schools rankings, 18 spots higher than 2017.
  • The School of Law ranked No. 18 for legal writing programs, No. 44 for part-time law programs and No. 127 overall on the 2018 Best Graduate Schools list. 
  • Education moved up five spots from 2017 to No. 148 on the 2018 Best Graduate Schools list. 
  • The part-time MBA program in the John F. Donahue Graduate School of Business ranked No. 166.
  • Two programs in the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts jumped in the 2018 rankings with English moving up five spots to No. 108 and Psychology moving up one spot to No. 190. 
  • Online bachelor's programs jumped 62 spots to break into the top 100, ranking No. 81 out of 231 schools included in 2018 Best Online Programs.
  • The School of Nursing ranked No. 26 in the nation on the Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs list. 
  • John G. Rangos, Sr. School of Health Sciences ranked No. 44 for occupational therapy, No. 64 for physical therapy and No. 69 for speech pathology on the 2018 Best Graduate School list.
  • The School of Pharmacy ranked No. 47 overall in the 2018 Best Graduate School list.
  • Clinical psychology ranked No. 165 in the first ranking compiled on this program in four years.
  • Duquesne was again included as an A-plus Schools for B Students, which focuses on performance in the Best Colleges rankings and the average freshman retention rate.
  • Duquesne University is among top 10 universities in the country with robust gender diversity among MBA students.
  • Duquesne is the only PA school listed among the nation's Most Efficient Top Universities.
  • Duquesne ranked No. 16 on the Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs for Veterans list.
  • Duquesne ranked No. 47 overall for best online bachelor's degree programs for veterans.
  • The only university in Pennsylvania listed among the 25 most financially efficient top-ranked schools. Duquesne was on the short list of private schools included.
  • Ranked among the nation's top 100 popular schools three times, Duquesne was described as having a "top reputation and students are highly motivated to go there."

Princeton Review

  • Duquesne included in 2017 Guide to 375 Green Colleges.
  • Duquesne named among the Best 382 Colleges in the nation.
  • Also named to the 2018 Best Colleges: Region by Region list, which includes academic institutions The Princeton Review considers "academically outstanding and well worth consideration of (one's) college search."
  • Donahue Graduate School of Business named as one of nation's top 294 for 2017.
  • Duquesne placed on 2018 Fire Safety Aid Honor Roll with a Fire Safety Rating of 99, the highest possible score. 
  • Named to the Green Colleges list as one of America's most environmentally friendly schools.
  • Duquesne was called "cosmopolitan yet caring" and recognized for uniting "the diversity and opportunities of an urban university with the community and comfort of a small liberal arts college."
